Purpose/Objectives/Requirements

Purpose:

Peer Counseling is a program open to all juniors and seniors and staff of the High Point Regional High School Community. We meet together as a group to learn more about human relationships, communication skills and leadership skills. By using the process of group dynamics and experiential learning in a series of sessions, we discover a better understanding of others and ourselves. We learn to reach out to others with caring and respect for the individuality of each other. Improved skills in communication such as listening, questioning and empathy, foster better relationships and contribute to a positive environment within this high school community.
