American Speech-Language-Hearing Association Database
This site is a resource for ASHA members, persons interested in information about communication disorders, and for those wanting career and membership information. ASHA provides a series of brochures, information packets, booklets, and fact sheets to educate consumers of audiology and speech-language pathology services about a wide range of speech, language, and hearing disabilities in both children and adults.

Arc of the United States
The Arc of the United States works through education, research and advocacy to improve the quality of life for children and adults with mental retardation and related developmental disabilities and their families. The site provides easy access to facts, contacts, and news updates.

Autism Society of America
Features articles that describes autism, the education of autism, early intervention for children with autism, contact information for local chapters of the society and information about federal regulations affecting federal education of children with autism. The Autism Society of America promotes lifelong access and opportunities for persons within the autism spectrum and their families.

IDA is a non-profit organization dedicated to helping individuals with dyslexia. This site provides information on the study and treatment of dyslexia. Resources are available to bring parents and professionals together for a common goal.

National Down Syndrome Society
National Down Syndrome Society: This site provides general information and support for parents and families regarding children with Down Syndrome.

Self Help for Hard of Hearing People is a non-profit organization that is dedicated to the well being of people of all ages and communication styles who suffer from any form of hearing loss. The site offers mail groups, chat groups and parent and child support groups.

Special Olympics
The Special Olympics provides year-round sports training and athletic competition in a variety of Olympic-type sports for individuals with mental retardation by giving them continuing opportunities to develop physical fitness, demonstrate courage, experience joy and participate in a sharing of gifts, skills, and friendship with their families. The site offers information regarding locations of games and competitions, as well as “how to's” on becoming a Special Olympics volunteer.
