Scholarship Information

The scholarship process requires time, work, and dedication on the part of you and your parents as well as school personnel. Many times students who are the most organized and the most diligent with the application process are the ones who receive scholarships!

Follow these steps for a successful scholarship search:

  • Investigate scholarships listed in Naviance. Log in to your Naviance account.  Click on the Colleges tab, the Scholarships and Money section, and then the Scholarship List link. Click on Local & Regional Scholarships link in the white bar at the top of the page to open up the list. Descriptions, links to websites, and applications can all be found there. Many local organizations have applications in Naviance.
  • Note deadlines, procedures and qualifications. When you have completed an application, review it with a parent and then your guidance counselor before mailing.  Be sure to give your guidance counselor adequate notice if your application requires a transcript, test scores, or letter of recommendation.  Applications should be mailed at least one week before the scholarship deadline.
  • Submit neat, complete, properly spelled and capitalized applications.  Please proofread, and take your time!  Attaching a resume is also a good idea.
  • Search for scholarships online.  Click on the Scholarships! Update on the bottom of your Naviance homepage for a list of websites.
