Follow these steps for a successful scholarship search:

  • Investigate scholarships listed in Naviance.  Log in to your Naviance account.  Click on the Colleges tab, the Scholarships and Money section, and then the Scholarship List link.  Descriptions, links to websites, and applications call all be found there. Many local organizations have applications in Naviance.
  • Note deadlines, procedures and qualifications. When you have completed an application, review it with a parent and then your guidance counselor before mailing.  Be sure to give your guidance counselor adequate notice if your application requires a transcript, test scores, or letter of recommendation.  Applications should be mailed at least one week before the scholarship deadline.
  • Submit neat, complete, properly spelled and capitalized applications.  Please proofread, and take your time!  Attaching a resume is also a good idea.
