BUS RULES

The following rules are for the protection of students. Any intentional violations could result in loss of the privilege of riding the bus. Reported infractions of the rules may result in suspension from school.

  • The bus driver has complete authority to determine infractions on the bus and is to be obeyed at all times.

  • Students and their parents will be held financially responsible for any damage that is done on school buses.

  • Smoking, eating and drinking on the bus are not permitted at any time.

  • Actions including, but not limited to, shouting, pushing, moving around, etc., which might serve to distract a bus driver, will not be tolerated.

  • Students are expected to be at their designated bus stop 10 minutes before the appointed time.  Bus drivers are not expected to wait.

  • Students must cross in front of a bus when crossing a street is necessary.

  • When a student violates the rules and has his or her riding privileges revoked, the parents are required to provide transportation to and from school.

  • Students are only permitted to ride the bus to which they are assigned unless they bring a written note from their guardian to the Transportation Office and obtain a bus pass (see Bus Pass Procedures).


LATE BUSES:
# 15-Sussex/ Wantage Area

3:45 PM -  Turn right out of High Point Regional High School. At the end, turn left onto Route 628. Turn right onto Sherman Ridge Road, then turn right onto Libertyville Road. At the end, turn right onto Route 23 South. Turn left onto Route 23 North.  Turn right onto Route 284. Turn left onto Dunvale, left onto Havens Road, then right onto Lott Road. Turn left onto Wolfpit Road and travel to the end. Turn right onto Unionville Road, then left onto Rockport Road. At the end, turn left onto Mt. Salem. Turn left onto Mudtown Road and travel to the end. Turn left onto Route 23, then right onto Route 519. Continue to Route 519/ Route 628 Intersection. Turn left onto Route 628, then right onto Pidgeon Hill Road and continue to High Point High School.

5:30 PM – Turn right out of High Point Regional High School. At the end, turn left onto Route 628. Turn right onto Route 519. Turn right onto Libertyville Road and travel to the end. Turn right onto Route 23 South. Continue through Sussex.  Turn right onto Pond School Road. Turn right onto Clark and left onto Compton. At the stop sign, continue straight onto Route 565 to McCoy’s Corner. Turn right onto Loomis Ave. Continue to the traffic light. Turn right onto Route 23 South.  Left onto Route 23 North.  Right onto Route 284 North. Turn left onto Dunvale, then left onto Havens Road. At the end turn right onto Lott Road and left onto Wolfpit. Travel to the end. Turn left onto Unionville Road. Route ends at Clove Road.

# 23- Frankford/ Lafayette Area  (Mrs. Apgar)

3:45 PM – Turn right out of High Point Regional High School. At the end of Pidgeon Hill Road, turn left onto Haggerty Road and travel to the stop sign. Turn left onto Beemer Church Road, then right onto Pidgeon Hill/ Davis Road. Take this to the end. Turn left onto Plains Road. At the end, turn right onto Route 565. Turn left onto Losey Road. This turns into Pelletown Road. Turn right onto Beaver Run Road, then left onto Lafayette Meadows Road. At the end, go straight across Route 15, bear right onto Route 94, then turn left onto Warbasse Junction. Turn left onto Garrison Road, then left onto Sunset Inn. At the intersection. turn left onto Route 15. At Ross’ Corner, go straight on to Route 206 North. Take Route 630 through Branchville, then back to Route 206 North. Turn right onto Upper North Shore, then right onto Wantage Ave/Route 519. At the end, turn left onto Wykertown Road, right onto George Hill Road, left onto Plains Road, left onto Davis Road, then straight onto Pidgeon Hill Road to High Point High School.

5:30 PM – Turn right out of High Point Regional High School. At the end of Pidgeon Hill Road, turn left onto Haggerty Road and travel to the stop sign. Turn left onto Beemer Church Road, then right onto Pidgeon Hill/ Davis Road. Take this to the end. Turn left onto Plains Road. At the end, turn right onto Route 565. Turn left onto Losey Road. This turns into Pelletown Road. Turn right onto Beaver Run Road, then left onto Lafayette Meadows Road. At the end, go straight across Route 15, bear right onto Route 94, then turn left onto Warbasse Junction. Turn left onto Garrison Road, then left onto Sunset Inn. At the intersection, turn left onto Route 15.  At Ross’ Corner, go straight on to Route 206 North. Take Route 630 through Branchville then back to Route 206 North. Turn right onto Upper North Shore. Turn left onto Mattison Reservoir Road, then right onto Crigger Road. Turn right onto Route 519.  Route ends at Krapf School Bus.


PLEASE NOTE:  Students can get off the late bus at any safe location on the route.  The student is to sign in upon entering the bus and let the driver know where they would like to get off.  The Driver will assist them.

BUS PROBLEMS

If a student or a parent has a bus problem that deals with times, location of bus stop, bus drivers, or complaints, they should contact the Transportation Office at 973-875-6356. We are in the office from 6:45am until 4:15pm.


BUS PASS PROCEDURES

In order for your child to take a different bus OR get off their regular bus at a different stop, the following procedures are to be followed in order to ensure the safety of our students:


  • Note signed by the parent MUST be brought to the Transportation Department or emailed by parent to BOTH [email protected] AND [email protected] by 11:00 a.m. - Note or email to include: + Child's Name + Name of student your child is going home with + Date(s) the Bus Pass needs to be issued for + Signature of parent and contact number

  • If Bus Pass is needed for morning transportation, please send note with your child or an email request the day before.

  • Students MUST pick up their Bus Pass INSIDE the Transportation Office and hand it to the bus driver.

  • Bus drivers will NOT allow an unassigned student to get on the bus or a student to get off the bus at a different stop without a Bus Pass.  

  • Students will NOT be called out of class so please be sure to follow the above procedures.

  • High Point is NOT authorized to issue Bus Passes for students wishing to ride a Montague bus.  

Please note that only scheduled bus stops can be made by the driver.

Due to safety issues, if the above procedures are not followed, we have been instructed NOT to issue your child a Bus Pass.
