· Parent Teacher Conferences
I am available for Parent / Teacher conferences
during school Monday through Friday when I have no classes (my schedule
is below). After school conferences can be at any time except during
swim season (November 15th - Feburary 20th) from 3:30pm to
7pm.
- To schedule
a Parent/ Teacher conference please contact the guidance department at
the number listed on the Teacher Contact Info Page.
· How can the Teacher and the Parent/ Guardian work together for Mr. Feuer's Classes?
1. Check to see if the student completed
the assignment for the day. Remember homework is 10% to 20% of the
final grade and that is enough to bring a grade up or down one or two letters.
2. Sometimes if the student is having problems
with a class the student will not say anything to the teacher about the
problem. Please, if you hear anything that I can do to help the student
learn the subject, feel free to call and leave a message
or e-mail me (see teacher contact info page).
3. Be aware of your students grades on
tests and quizzes.
4. Make sure your student is doing corrections
on his or her test / quizzes.
· Extra Credit ( Corrections )
I only give extra credit if the student deserves
it by working for it, and this is done by
doing corrections. If at work, you do something
incorrectly, your boss will hand it back and say fix this and return it
to me. I have a similar policy in my class. If on a test /
quiz a student looses some points on one or many problems, they can take
the test home, and rework the wrong answer, or answers so they are correct.
They turn back in the corrected answers, and for their efforts they will
receive 25% of their missed points added back to their test grade.
Example - If a student receives a 76 out
of 100 points on a test, it means that they lost 24 points. I will
give them 24 ¸ 4 = 6 pts back. So from a 76 they get
an 82. Which brings them from a C to a B-.
