Mrs. Shrope’s Website

About me: I have been teaching at High Point since 1992. I hold certificates in both Secondary Social Studies earned while studying at Brigham Young University, as well as Teacher of the Handicapped earned while studying at Jersey City University, Rutgers University and Montclair University. I earned a Bachelor’s degree in Secondary Social Studies from Brigham Young University in 1988, and a Master’s degree in Special Education in 1997. I have coached Field Hockey, Basketball and Softball here at High Point. I am married and have boy/girl twins who attend the Sussex/Wantage School system. I am a product of the Andover Regional School System and Newton High School.

About my classes: I am teaching American Studies 2A and American Studies 2B. I try to help my students make connections between the events of the past and the current day. Class time will be spent taking notes, participating in discussions, viewing film clips and Powerpoint presentations and examining the past in interesting ways.
