Our Class Garden

The MCI class maintains a class garden outside our window in rm. 410. The garden consists of five raised beds and border beds. We grow eggplant, tomatoes, cucumbers, squash, lettuce, pumpkins and lots of flowers. In spring we cultivate the beds, plant and mulch. The summer program kids help weed and water. In the fall, we harvest our bounty and cook with the vegetables. Flowers are shared with staff and families. We garden organically using no herbicides or pesticides, only mulch and fish emulsion.
